Cushion Filling Materials We Offer
A firm, long-lasting foam that provides excellent support. High-density foam is known for holding its shape over time and resisting sagging. It’s perfect for seat cushions that need a little extra firmness or for clients who want a “like-new” feel that lasts. We cut each foam insert to perfectly fit your cover and can even add dacron batting (poly wrap) for a smooth, rounded look.
A soft, synthetic fill that creates a plush, enveloping feel. Polyfiber is often used in back cushions or as a wrap over foam to add softness. It gives cushions a light, fluffy comfort, though purely fiber-filled cushions may require occasional fluffing as the fibers settle. We use high-loft, durable polyfiber that will bring new loft to back pillows or accent cushions.
Nothing beats the luxurious softness of natural down and feather filling. We offer down/feather inserts (typically a mix for the best blend of softness and resilience) for that sink-in comfort. These are ideal for back cushions or special throw pillows where a plush, high-end feel is desired. (We usually encase down in a down-proof ticking to prevent any feathers from poking out.) Keep in mind that 100% down cushions, while extremely soft, can flatten quickly without support – so we often recommend using them as wraps or in combination with foam for structure.
For the best of both worlds, we can create layered cushions. For example, a high-density foam core wrapped in down or polyfiber gives you the support of foam with a top layer of softness. This hybrid approach is commonly found in high-end furniture – a dense core that holds shape, and a cozy outer layer for comfort . We can customize the layering (even adding memory foam or gel inserts if needed) to achieve your perfect comfort level.
