Repair it, restore it, or recover it?
Three different jobs, and the difference is not how bad it looks — it is how much of the hide is still doing its job.
Repair
One area is damaged and the rest of the piece is sound. We work on that area only and blend it back into the panel around it.
Restore
The hide is intact but the colour and finish on top of it are not. Nothing is replaced; the surface is cleaned, matched and rebuilt.
Recover
The cover has reached the end. The frame underneath almost never has — it is stripped, re-webbed and covered again in the hide you pick.

How much does leather upholstery repair cost?
It depends on what is wrong and how much of the piece it affects, so we quote from photographs rather than a price list. Send two pictures — one of the whole piece, one close up on the damage — and you get a written figure back before anyone visits.
Can the work be done in my home?
Most surface work is. Scratches, scuffs, cracks, small tears, colour restoration, cleaning and conditioning are all done on site in a single visit. Work that needs the piece opened up — foam, springs, webbing, panels, a full recover — goes to the workshop and comes back.
Is it repair, restoration or reupholstery?
Leather upholstery repair fixes one damaged area while the rest of the hide is sound. Restoration leaves the hide alone and rebuilds the colour and finish over it. Reupholstery replaces the cover entirely and keeps the frame. Send photos and we will tell you which one your piece needs.
Do you work on fabric and vinyl as well as leather?
Yes. Reupholstery, cushions and frame work are the same regardless of the cover, and we hold fabric and vinyl alongside hides. The surface repair pages are leather-specific because leather is the surface with its own repair method.
Which areas do you cover?
New York City, Long Island, Westchester and northern New Jersey. On-site visits run across all of them; workshop jobs are collected and returned.
