Hotel furniture repair NYC
Match the chair beside it
One crew across every material Leather/ Vinyl/ Fabric/ Suede/ Wood
What we repair
We repair every seat in the building, not just the lobby sofa.
Hotel furniture repair NYC covers the whole property, and each seat type fails its own way.
-

The cushion cores collapse before the leather does. Foam gets rebuilt first.
Lobby
Lobby sofas
& sectionals -

Arm tops and the front edge wear first. Usually refinished as a set.
Lobby and suites
Lounge chairs
& accent chairs -

Back rails collect the scuffs. Chairs move in matched runs, never singly.
Restaurant
Dining chairs
& restaurant seating -

The footrest side of the seat goes first. Swivel mechanisms get rebuilt too.
Bar
Bar stools
& counter seating -

Fixed to the floor, so these are reupholstered in place, overnight.
Restaurant
Banquettes
& booths -

Identical panels, floor after floor. Colour has to match room to room.
Guest rooms
Headboards
& bedroom furniture -

Sat on, stood on, used as tables. Tops are rebuilt, not patched.
Throughout
Ottomans, benches
& poufs
What gets reported
Ten failures cover almost everything a hotel calls about
The damage is rarely exotic. Housekeeping and the annual audit report the same ten things.
01
Split seam
The leather either side is sound, so the panel is restitched, not replaced.
02
Broken stitching
Thread gone where an arm rests. Left alone the edge curls and a repair becomes a recover.
03
Cut or tear
A suitcase corner, a key, a trolley. Sub-patched from behind, filled and re-grained.
04
Foam through the cover
Once the filling shows, the cushion is compressed. Foam and cover are quoted together.
05
Finish failure
The topcoat crazes and goes matt where hands land. A finish job, not a structural one.
06
Racked frame
The joints have loosened and the chair rocks. Frames are re-glued and pinned.
07
Scratches
Trolley wheels, rings and watch straps score the surface. Scratches sit in the finish, so they recolour out.
08
Stains
Drinks, hair product and hand cream carry in. Cleaned first, then colour-corrected.
09
Burns
A cigarette or a candle leaves a crater. Filled level, re-grained to match, then blended back.
10
Worn areas
Colour rubs off a headrest before anything tears — the cheapest fix on this list.
The hotel problem
Matching is most of the job
A repair is judged against the pieces that were never damaged.
Colour is measured, not guessed
Colour is pulled against the piece under the room’s own light, then proved on a card.
Sheen has to agree
A perfect colour at the wrong gloss still reads as a patch. Sheen is set separately.
Grain carries through the seam
Repaired areas are re-grained from a plate off the same hide family, so texture carries through.
The survivors are the specification
Undamaged pieces on the floor are the reference, not a sample book.
Colour and sheen match
Custom colour is mixed and the sheen is dialled in for a perfect visual match.
Repair and recreate
Damage is repaired and the grain, texture and finish are recreated to blend seamlessly.
Room-level approval
We step back and confirm the repair disappears — exactly as it should.
What we work with
We work with every material a hotel puts in a room.
A hotel floor is never one material. Vinyl, fabric, suede and wood go to one crew, cutting from the same contract-grade stock as makers like Moore & Giles.
Repair, or something else
Where hotel furniture repair stops
Quoting a repair that will not hold is worse than quoting a recover. Every quote we send gives both numbers.
Repair is the right call
Repair is the cheaper answer whenever the cover is sound and the failure local.
- A single split seam, cut or puncture.
- A worn arm on an otherwise even hide.
- Loose joints, slack webbing, tired foam.
- Colour and sheen lost on one panel of a set.
It is past repair
Saying so at the quote stage saves a wasted visit.
- Bonded leather that is peeling — the surface is a film, not a hide.
- Mould carried through the foam after a leak or a flood.
- Cracking across the whole seat rather than one contact zone.
- A cover already patched twice on the same seam.
Those pieces go to hotel furniture reupholstery or restoration instead.
Where the job goes next
Six services, and how to tell which one you need.
Repair, restoration and a full recover sit at three different costs. Leather, vinyl and fabric each take a different route again.
Commercial leather repair
Sound hide, local damage. We rebuild the failure and leave the panel.
Leather repair →
Option 02
Commercial leather restoration
Intact but tired — faded, dry, colour-worn. The finish comes back, the frame stays.
Leather restoration →
Option 03
Commercial leather reupholstery
Hide past saving, or the specification changed. New leather, new foam, the same frame.
Leather reupholstery →
Option 04
Commercial vinyl repair
Contract vinyl splits at the welt and crazes on armrests. We test the film first.
Vinyl repair →
Option 05
Commercial vinyl reupholstery
Once the film has hardened through, a patch shows. Stools and booths get fresh vinyl.
Vinyl reupholstery →
Option 06
Commercial fabric reupholstery
Banquettes and headboards — recovered in place overnight where the piece is fixed.
Fabric reupholstery →
Beyond one repair
Most hotels book a program, not a chair.
A one-off repair is where most operators start. Consistency is what they come back for.
B2B contracts
One agreement for the whole group
Rates, insurance and response fixed up front, so work is scheduled off a housekeeping report.
Contract terms →
Commercial furniture maintenance
Wear caught on a monthly round
Cleaning, conditioning and small repairs monthly, so a dry armrest is caught as a touch-up.
Maintenance program →
Bulk projects
The room, not the piece
Quoted by the run or the floor. Seating comes out in batches you can trade without.
Bulk projects →Before and after
The piece a guest complained about, back in the room.
The work is judged from the doorway. Every piece below went back into service.
BeforeAfter
Lounge sectional, finish flaked off the seat
The topcoat had lifted across the seat panels. Recoloured and refinished as one run.
BeforeAfter
Guest room headboard, marked across the panels
Panels cleaned and the finish evened, so the marking no longer reads under the sconce.
BeforeAfter
Guest room armchair, dry and cracked
Colour and a fresh topcoat brought the hide back.
BeforeAfter
Lobby sofa, split in the back cushion
The split was closed and re-grained into the panel around it.
BeforeAfter
Suite sectional, creasing across the seats
Creasing and colour loss on every seat, restored as one run.
BeforeAfter
Guest room chair, staining on the fabric
Not leather. The staining lifted out of the weave and the chair kept its cover.
BeforeAfter
Lounge ottoman, soiling on the top panel
Cleaned back to an even tone, seam and piping untouched.
Questions
Hotel furniture repair NYC: what operators ask first
How is hotel furniture repair NYC priced?
By the piece and by the failure, not by the room. A split seam on a desk chair and a crazed arm on a lobby sofa are different jobs at different costs, so a quote lists each piece separately. Where a floor has many identical pieces the run is priced together through our bulk projects programme.
Can you match a repair to furniture we bought years ago?
That is the normal case. Colour is pulled against the piece rather than from a book, proved on a drawdown card, then checked once cured. Where the original hide is no longer made, a replacement hide is matched to the surviving pieces on that floor rather than to the discontinued original.
Do you repair in the guest room, or take the piece away?
Both, depending on the piece. Headboards, fixed benches and built-in seating are repaired where they stand. Chairs, ottomans and loose cushions leave for the workshop, because filling, re-graining and curing need controlled conditions. Work is scheduled so a room comes back into service on your rotation.
Is repair worth doing before a renovation?
Usually, yes. Repair is what carries furniture through the years between capital cycles, and a property improvement plan rarely replaces every piece. Repairing the pieces that are staying keeps them consistent with whatever arrives new.
What if the damage turns out to be worse than the photograph?
We say so before starting, not after. If a cover is delaminating or the foam has failed underneath, the piece moves to reupholstery or restoration and is re-quoted, rather than being patched to fail again next quarter.
Can you repair a whole floor at once?
Yes, and batching is usually the better value. Identical pieces are collected together so colour is mixed once and applied across the whole run, which is also the only way to guarantee a floor still matches when the last chair goes back. Larger runs are scheduled through our bulk projects programme.
What if a piece cannot leave the room?
Then it does not leave. Headboards, fixed benches and built-in seating are repaired where they stand, during the quiet hours your duty manager nominates. An occupied room is planned around housekeeping rather than the other way round.
Do you cover hotels outside Manhattan?
Yes. Hotel furniture repair NYC covers all five boroughs, and we work New Jersey properties on the same terms. Travel is agreed up front so it does not appear later as a surprise line.
