Worked: Unscrewed at the table and recovered on a bench in your own dining room — on-site repairs, nothing carried out of the building.

Worked: Pad and back lift off the column, which stays bolted down. Stool tops take the hardest wear in the room, so they are usually recovered first — the bar-side job is bar stool reupholstery.

Seating is built in separate covered panels, each coming off on its own. Redo one, leave the rest.

Measure on site

Every bay and seat is taped where it stands, so patterns are cut to your room, not a standard size.

Chosen at your own table, under your own lights.

Sew

Panels are cut and seamed on a walking-foot machine. Flutes, channels and piping are built here, before anything is fitted.

Reupholster

New foam goes down, the cover is pulled from the centre out and stapled off. Fixed runs are worked in place; loose seats come off at the table.

Install

Seats are refitted and the run reset with its tables. The room is seatable at once.

Working overnight

A night is an option, not a promise.

Restaurant chair reupholstery is mechanical — cut, pull, staple, stitch — so it holds the moment it is fitted, and nothing waits on chemistry.

What fits a night

Loose chair seats and backs, stool pads, bench cushions, and fixed banquette bays recovered in place. Templating and cutting are done beforehand, so the night is fitting only — a large room runs over consecutive nights.

What does not

Colour work on leather and glued frame joints have to cure, and curing cannot be compressed. Sort the job by what has to set, not by what sounds big.

A run recovered in one visit comes off one roll and one set-up, so every seat ends the night the same colour. Split it across the year and you are matching to a cover that has aged.

What is restaurant chair reupholstery?

Restaurant chair reupholstery is replacing the cover, and usually the foam under it, on the seats a dining room already owns — dining chairs, bar stools, bench and banquette seating — while keeping the existing frames. The frame is the expensive part and almost always survives; what fails is the surface people sit on.

Can you reupholster our chairs without closing the restaurant?

Yes — that is how most of this work is done. Templating and cutting happen off site beforehand, so the shift in your room is fitting rather than deciding. We come in after the last cover, work through the night, and the seats are back under the tables for the next service.

Should we use vinyl or leather on dining chairs?

For a working dining room, commercial vinyl is usually the right call. Its heavy woven backing takes the twisting a chair gets when guests drag it across the floor, and it wipes clean without the care regime leather needs. Leather is the right answer where the seat is part of the room's design — a lounge chair, a private dining room, a banquette back guests lean on.

Do the chairs have to leave the restaurant?

Usually not. Fixed seating — banquette runs, booths, plinth-mounted benches — is attached to the room and is recovered in place, which is why those jobs run overnight. Loose chairs and stool pads are unscrewed and recovered on a bench set up in your own dining room. Only a piece going back to the bare frame, with webbing or springs redone, is worth collecting.
