Commercial Leather
Furniture RepairBy Leather Type. At Commercial Scale.
Professional leather furniture repair for commercial properties, hospitality, offices, restaurants and managed facilities. From multi-piece repairs to scheduled maintenance programs, we repair damaged commercial leather furniture using methods selected for the leather type, the usage level and the operating environment.
Protected / Pigmented
Commercial Leather Repair StartsWith the Leather Type.
The correct repair method depends on the leather itself. Aniline, semi-aniline and protected/pigmented leather respond differently to cleaning, fillers, dyes, pigments, coatings and finishing systems. Identifying the material is the first step of every commercial project — before a single repair is made.
Aniline Leather
Natural, absorbent and minimally coated. The surface shows its own grain and takes color into the hide rather than onto it, so repairs require slower color development and careful finishing to avoid a patch that reads heavier than the leather around it.
Semi-Aniline Leather
Carries a light protective finish while keeping its natural character. Common on hospitality and executive seating, it accepts a wider range of repair and finishing approaches than full aniline while still demanding accurate sheen and texture matching.
Protected / Pigmented Leather
The most resistant commercial surface, with a pigmented topcoat built for traffic and cleaning. That coating allows more direct filling, recoloring and clear-coat work, which is why it carries the majority of high-use commercial seating.
Full material behaviour, care and cleaning detail lives on each material page. Also repairing commercial vinyl and commercial wood.
Damage We Seeon Commercial Leather.
Commercial leather fails where it is used hardest — seat fronts, armrests, seams and contact edges. Each damage type below is repaired as its own operation, and most projects contain several of them at once.
Tears & Cuts
Split leather rebuilt from the substrate up, then recolored and finished flush.
Punctures
Small penetrations filled and leveled before the opening spreads under seating load.
Cracks
Dried, cracked surfaces stabilized, filled and refinished across the affected panel.
Scratches & Scuffs
Surface marks blended into the surrounding finish without recoloring the whole piece.
Open Seams
Seams reopened, realigned and closed so the panel sits under correct tension again.
Broken Stitching
Failed stitch lines resewn in matching thread, weight and stitch spacing.
Burn Damage
Burned material cut back to sound leather, rebuilt, then color and texture matched.
Worn Areas
Thinned seat fronts, armrests and contact edges rebuilt before the surface breaks open.
Damaged Panels
Where a section is past repair, the individual panel is replaced rather than the whole piece.
Seat & Cushion Damage
Collapsed seating corrected underneath so the repaired leather is not carrying the failure.
Localized Color Loss
Faded and rubbed-through areas recolored to the surrounding leather, not to a swatch book.
Minor Structural Damage
Loose frames, failed joints and shifting backs corrected so the repair holds in service.
If the Leather Has Started Peeling, It Is a Replacement — Not a Repair.
Peeling is not surface damage — it is delamination. The coating has separated from the material underneath, and once that separation starts it keeps spreading across the panel. Anything applied on top — filler, pigment, topcoat — bonds to a layer that is already lifting, so the patch lifts with it. It looks corrected for a few weeks and then peels again, usually over a wider area than before.
This is most common on bonded and heavily coated seating in high-use commercial rooms. When we find it during assessment we say so and quote those units for reupholstery instead. We do not sell a repair that we know will come back.
The Repair Standard Depends onHow the Furniture Is Used.
The same tear in a hotel lobby and in a private office is not the same commercial leather repair job. Before we choose a method we look at where the piece sits, how many people use it, how often it is cleaned, what the colorfastness and abrasion demands are, and what it has to look like when we leave.
When Repair Isthe Right Solution.
Leather that is damaged, leather that is worn out and leather that is finished are three different problems. During assessment every unit is sorted into one of these three, and only what genuinely needs repair is repaired.
The damage is localized and the leather around it is sound — a tear, cut, puncture, open seam, broken stitching, burn or one damaged panel.
The leather is structurally fine but faded, worn, stained or discolored, and the finish and color have gone across the piece rather than in one spot.
The surface is peeling or flaking away from the material underneath, or the leather has failed too far to hold a repair — widespread splitting or substrate breakdown. Peeling always lands here: it cannot be repaired, only replaced.
Built for Projectsof Five Units and Up.
Our commercial leather repair service is designed for projects of five or more furniture units. One assessment, one scope, one crew — whether that is a conference room or a full property.
Commercial projects begin at five furniture units. Below that threshold the work is handled as a single-piece service instead, because the assessment, scheduling and crew structure that make multi-unit projects efficient do not apply to one chair.
One Assessment. One Repair Plan.Multiple Units.
Every commercial leather project follows the same six stages, from the first walk-through to the final check — so the scope is fixed before the work starts and nothing gets priced twice.
Site Assessment
We walk the property and inspect every unit in the project, not a sample of them.
Damage Inventory
Each piece is logged by damage type and severity so the scope reflects real condition.
Material Identification
Leather type is confirmed per unit, since one room can hold three different hides.
Repair Plan
We set what is repaired, what is restored, what needs panel replacement and what should be reupholstered.
Bulk Execution
The crew works the project in batches or in parallel, scheduled around your operating hours.
Final QC
Every unit is checked against the scope before the project is closed out.
We Repair What Needs Repair —Not Everything the Same Way.
Twenty chairs in the same lobby are rarely in the same condition. Charging to repair all of them identically costs you money on the pieces that did not need it, and under-treats the ones that did. A real hotel lobby project breaks down like this.
Multiple Pieces. One Property— or a Whole Portfolio.
Need multiple leather pieces repaired across one property or across several locations? Bulk projects are quoted, scheduled and executed as a single engagement, with volume terms and phased windows set on the program page.
From One-Time Repairto Ongoing Maintenance.
For properties with leather furniture in continuous use, repairs can become part of a scheduled maintenance program — so damage is caught at touch-up stage instead of at replacement stage.
Initial Assessment
Condition of every leather piece on the property is recorded.
Bulk Repair
The backlog is cleared in one project under one scope.
Scheduled Inspections
Furniture is reviewed on a set interval, not when it fails.
Touch-Ups
Minor wear corrected before it turns into a repair.
Preventive Repairs
High-use pieces treated ahead of predictable failure points.
Three Ways Commercial ClientsPut Leather Repair on Contract.
Most properties do not need leather repair once — they need it handled, permanently. These are the three commercial programs leather repair runs under, and you can be on more than one at the same time.
Property & Facility Program
A standing maintenance contract for a building or a portfolio. We hold the condition record for every leather piece on the property, walk it on a fixed interval, and correct wear at touch-up stage instead of waiting for a work order. One vendor, one rate card, one COI on file with building management — and no re-onboarding every time something needs attention.
- Scheduled walk-throughs
- Fixed rate card
- Standing COI & vendor file
- Multi-building coverage
- Annual condition report
Emergency Repair Program
For damage that cannot wait for a scope and a quote. A cut booth two hours before dinner service, a torn lobby chair the morning of an event, a slashed banquette in the only section you can seat. Contract clients get a direct line, a pre-approved spend threshold and a technician dispatched without a new estimate cycle — we repair first and reconcile after.
- Priority dispatch
- Pre-approved threshold
- No new quote cycle
- Before opening & overnight
- Temporary hold, permanent later
Bulk Project Program
For clearing a backlog rather than maintaining one. Twenty booths, a full executive floor, every lobby across five properties — inventoried, sorted by damage and leather type, then repaired in phased windows so no section closes entirely. Priced as one engagement with volume terms rather than as a stack of individual repairs.
- Volume pricing
- Phased by floor or section
- One written scope
- Multi-technician crews
- Portfolio-wide rollouts

What Commercial ClientsAsk First.
01What is the minimum size for a commercial leather repair project?+
Commercial projects begin at five furniture units. Single pieces are handled through our standard leather repair service instead — the assessment, crew structure and scheduling that make multi-unit work efficient do not apply to one chair.
02Can you repair different types of damage within one project?+
Yes, and most projects are mixed. Every unit is inventoried by damage type and severity, then grouped, so one scope of work can contain surface repair, seam work, panel replacement and recoloring at the same time.
03Can you match different leather types and colors?+
Yes. Leather type is identified per unit, since one room often holds more than one hide, and color is matched on site against the piece itself. Formulas are recorded so later repairs at the same property still match. See custom color matching.
04Can repairs be completed on-site?+
Most commercial leather repairs are completed in place with nothing removed from your floor. Panel replacement and heavier structural work may need shop time, in which case pickup and delivery is arranged for those units only.
05Can you work after business hours?+
Yes. Projects are scheduled around your operating hours — after closing, overnight, before opening or across weekends — and phased by section or floor so no area goes offline all at once.
06Do you provide COIs for commercial buildings?+
Yes. Certificates of insurance are issued to building management, and vendor forms, dock scheduling and building access requirements are completed before the crew arrives. See COI & insurance.
07Can you repair furniture across multiple locations?+
Yes. Portfolios and multi-site businesses are handled under one scope with the same crew, the same materials and the same recorded color formulas, so the last location matches the first.
08Can peeling leather be repaired?+
No. Once leather is peeling, the coating has separated from the material underneath and the separation keeps spreading. Any filler, pigment or topcoat applied over it bonds to a layer that is already lifting, so the repair fails and usually takes more of the surface with it. Peeling units are quoted for reupholstery, not repair.
09When should commercial leather be reupholstered instead of repaired?+
When the surface is peeling, or when the leather has failed across a whole panel or piece — widespread splitting, delamination or substrate breakdown. Those units are flagged during assessment and quoted as reupholstery rather than repaired twice.
10Can leather repair be included in a maintenance contract?+
Yes. After an initial project, repairs can move onto a scheduled program with recurring inspections, touch-ups and preventive work. See maintenance contracts.
11Do you offer emergency commercial leather repair?+
Yes. Clients on an active program get priority dispatch with a pre-approved spend threshold, so a cut booth or a torn lobby chair is repaired without waiting for a new estimate cycle — typically same day or the next morning, before opening where needed. See emergency repair programs.
Commercial Leather Repair in New York City & New Jersey
Leather Restore PRO provides commercial leather repair for businesses and managed properties across Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, the Bronx, Staten Island, Long Island and northern New Jersey. Projects start at five furniture units and are quoted as a single written scope covering every piece in the room, the floor or the property.
The work covers the leather furniture commercial spaces actually run on: restaurant booth repair and banquette seating, bar stools, hotel lobby and lounge seating, executive and conference chairs, reception furniture, leather sofas and armchairs in amenity spaces. Typical repairs include tears and cuts, seam and stitching failure, burns, scuffing, color loss, cracked panels and worn armrests — each priced as its own operation rather than as a flat per-chair rate.
Where damage has gone past the finish layer, repair is not the answer. Delaminated or peeling leather is quoted for commercial leather reupholstery, and heavy uniform wear across a full set is usually better handled as commercial furniture restoration. Leather repair sits inside our wider commercial furniture repair service alongside vinyl and wood.
