The set is the job, not the chair

Recover two of six and you are left with two that no longer match. Dining chair reupholstery is quoted by the run.

The front edge

The backs of your legs drag across it every time you stand. The finish goes pale, then the grain goes.

The seat centre

One person sits in the same chair for a decade. A new cover over a dead pad still feels hard.

The top rail

Chairs get pulled out by the back, so the rail darkens before the seat.

The outside back

Up against a wall or a radiator, dry and scuffed.

We assess the foam, padding and seat support while the old covers are removed.

Choosing the hide

A dining chair meets food, not just weight

The one seat that takes wine, oil and hands at every meal. Unsealed aniline stains on contact.

Is dining chair reupholstery cheaper than buying new?

For a set, almost always. The frames and seat height are already right, so you pay for hide and hours.

Can you do the seat pads only?

On a drop-in seat that is the whole job: the pad unscrews and goes back recovered.

Do chairs have to leave the house?

Full recovers do. We collect the set and give a return date once the first chair is stripped.

Can you do four and leave the other four?

We can, but hide cut months apart reads as a different chair under the same light.

Will you match my existing leather?

To a sample, never a photograph. Send one chair in, or a piece cut from under a seat.
