Arhaus

Brands we service

The leather outlives the warranty.

Arhaus leather sofa repair across New York City, Long Island and New Jersey. Their warranty says fabric and leather are not covered, and the protection plan excludes cracking and peeling. That is the gap we work in.

Keep the character. Restore the comfort.

Every Arhaus leather sofa repair starts by reading the finish, the damage and the way the piece is built. A waxed hide and a sealed one take colour differently, and the wrong call shows up in daylight a week later.

What needs attention?

Eight faults account for nearly every Arhaus leather sofa repair we are called out to. Most are surface work, and most are done in a single visit.

Pale scratches and scuffing across the front edge of a brown leather seat cushion Scratches & scuffs
A small diamond-shaped tear opening along a seam on brown leather Small tears
A network of cracks in brown leather opening into a hole Cracking & wear
A washed-out taupe cushion corner where the colour has gone flat Faded colour
Dark ink splattered across a cream leather cushion Stains & ink
A seam opening where two brown leather panels meet Split seams
Collapsed, wrinkled seat cushions on a brown leather sofa Sagging cushions
Worn, abraded piping running along the edge of a dark brown cushion Damaged piping

A repair plan for your sofa

Arhaus leather sofa repair comes down to three kinds of work, usually in this order. You are told which ones your piece actually needs before anything starts.

Surface repair

Scuffs, scratches and cracking are filled and levelled, then the finish is rebuilt so the grain reads continuous instead of patched.

Colour restoration

Colour and sheen are mixed to your hide, not to a chart, and proved on a hidden panel before a drop goes anywhere you can see.

Seams & cushions

Split seams are restitched through the original holes and collapsed cushions are refilled, so the piece sits the way it did new.

The decision

Repair, restore or reupholster?

It comes down to how much of the hide is still sound. We tell you which one you are looking at on the first visit, including when the answer is that it is not worth doing.

Repair

Damage is local. Tears, seams, scuffs and single panels, with the rest of the hide left alone.

Restore

The hide is sound but tired. Colour and finish are rebuilt across whole panels so nothing reads as a patch.

Reupholster

The leather itself has failed. New hide over the existing frame, which on an Arhaus frame is usually the better buy.

Different leather. Different care.

Arhaus sells sealed hides next to almost-naked ones. We identify the finish and test a discreet area before any Arhaus leather sofa repair begins.

Even, sealed pigmented leather with a uniform pebble grain Pigmented Sealed. The forgiving one — cleans safely, takes colour predictably.
Matte natural grain leather showing its own markings Natural grain Lightly finished. Shows its own scars, and absorbs whatever you put on it.
Waxed, hand-distressed leather with a pull-up patina Waxy / distressed Wax moves under pressure. Colour has to be built to move with it.
Brown nubuck with a soft raised nap Suede-like nap Nubuck. Arhaus says no cleaner or conditioner, and they are right.

Premium materials.
Expert care.

An Arhaus collection can be a waxed semi-aniline on one model and a full aniline on the next, with nubuck and pigmented hides in the same showroom. Nothing about them is interchangeable.

We keep repair leathers, dyes and finishes across that whole range, so an Arhaus leather sofa repair is matched to the hide you own rather than to whatever is on the van. See the materials we work in.

Before you book anyone

Is Arhaus leather sofa repair covered by the warranty?

No. Arhaus states plainly in its limited warranty that fabric and leather are not covered. Frames and spring support carry a lifetime term and cushion cores and tailoring carry three years, so a broken frame or a failed zipper is worth a call to Arhaus first. Anything happening on the surface of the hide is where Arhaus leather sofa repair starts.

I bought the protection plan. Does that cover cracking?

Read the exclusions before you assume it does. The Worry-Free plan is administered by UNITERS and its exclusion list names normal wear and tear, foam resiliency, and scratches, cracking, peeling or splitting of leather. It also voids a claim on any product where cleaning or repair was attempted first, so start the claim before you start experimenting.

Will repairing it void the rest of my warranty?

It can, and this is the one thing worth checking before you book anyone. Arhaus voids the limited warranty on furniture reupholstered or repaired by any resource other than Arhaus or its partners. If your piece is still inside the frame or cushion term and the fault is structural, call them first. If the leather is the problem, the warranty never covered it anyway.

Do you come to my home or take the sofa away?

Most Arhaus leather sofa repair happens in your home. Colour work, cracking, scuffs, small tears and seam restitching are all done on site. A cushion that needs opening up, or a panel that has to be cut and replaced, is the case where the piece or the cushion travels.

My Arhaus leather has gone darker on the arms and headrest. Is that damage?

Usually not. Arhaus sells lightly finished hides alongside sealed ones, and an aniline or waxed semi-aniline hide absorbs body oil by design. That darkening is the material behaving as intended, not a defect, which is also why no warranty treats it as one. It cleans back a long way, and what remains is a colour job rather than a repair.
